This series consists of unaltered, unprocessed digital photographs of frosted windows captured from a moving car. They were taken in the 6am light and fog of a 30 below zero day close to the family home of my wife in northern Minnesota. The scene served as a catalyst for the memory of the layered, frosted winter windows in my bedroom in the 1830s farm house where I grew up. The shot is documentary in nature, but has a tension between abstracted forms, the hint of script suggested by the frost, as well as the memory not only of trees but of the feeling of cold over years of accumulated memory.
